Has anybody used SiteDepot for a custom web shop for one of their domains? Was it worth it?
SiteDepot websites are powered by Associate-o-Matic software which costs $99 for the first year and $20 for subsequent years. There is also a lite-version which is free when you allow their affiliate-ID to be used over yours 1/10 of the time.
SiteDepot customers are essentially paying $150 for a shoddy logo design and are probably using an illegal copy of the software. His customers are technically required to purchase a license unless he has worked an agreement with Associate-o-Matic, which I highly doubt.
Sorry to be blunt, but I do not recommend Mike Cohen's WannaDevelop, SiteDepot, and Domain Mass Development because of his poor business practices, non-existent ethics and bad advice. -
According to AdWords help documentation this data is a 12-month average of search queries. What you likely encountered was an update of the data. They can't possibly have all the data for each keyword updated live. My guess is that it is updated on around a monthly basis.
Update: I've just received word from Ty Hancocks that Google may have changed the criteria for how they calculate broad and exact match queries data. Hopefully this change has brought about more accurate numbers. -
Content and relevance will be the driving force for SEO purposes. The key also is "How does the public use and search in that niche? Do they use a number in their searches and content?"
Something like 800Numbers.com or 24Hours.com is going to do a ton better than EightHundredNumbers.com or TwentyFourHours.com. You have to be honest with yourself and determine it's relevance and how it looks objectively. If this is something you plan on developing, ask yourself, "If I saw this domain in an organic search result, does it seem credible?" If the answer is yes, you have a winner. -
I am taking a wait and see approach to the .co tld. If you are able to get a great generic very cheap, it might be worth a shot but realize it is a risk. You best option would be to develop something and get some traffic/revenue.

Do you think it's a good idea to invest in (.US) domains?
I think the .us tld has some good legs in terms of longevity. It is not going anywhere and for all the folks who poo-poo it, it is still one of the top ccTLDs in the marketplace. THe real money is in developing the domain and not so much in flipping. -
Has anyone use domain samurai? So much tools, so little time..
I am a big fan of market samurai, less so domain samurai. I found it cumbersome and not all that useful for domaining. That said, it seems aimed at marketers rather than domainers. -
I would suggest you setup a 301 permanent redirect to the active site to capture any extra traffic. Thanks for your question.
